When this game was announced,it was like a bomb for worldwide Hokuto no Ken fans. The hype for Fist of the North Star: Ken?s Rage grew video after video,screen after screen.

I?ve been waiting all my life for a game like this ,and after hours of play I can say it loud:
?Fist of the North Star: Ken?s Rage is the best Hokuto no Ken game ever!?

There is so much more to say about this game,I really don?t know where to start. This game is full of positive aspects: amazing atmosphere of backgrounds,charisma of every single character,an incredible number of techniques,stunning characters models and animations,different game modes for real Hokuto no Ken pleasure,and many more!!!

Let?s have a deep look on every single aspect of Ken?s Rage!

GRAPHICS
Ken?s Rage bring to life the post-apocalyptic,you?ll fight in levels fulls of destruction,ruins and desertic places. Some backgrounds are particularly inspired,for example Southern?s Holy Cross Mausoleum is stunning,emotional. There are a lot of scenarios where you?ll be surprised by the details that?s sure!

Special mention for characters models,they are simply magnificient,with perfects propotions and realistic animation. Every characters is immediately recognizable,with fantastic details for costumes and appearance.

And how about bodies explosion?

They are pure art!! Funny and realistic at the same time. Defeated enemies will explode in a cloud of blood and innards,so exciting!!!
Ken?s Rage simply offer the best transposition of Hokuto no Ken in a videogame.

GAMEPLAY
Basically Ken?s Rage is what any Hokuto no Ken fan have always dream of: an interactive Hokuto no Ken world where you can move and facing thousands of enemies. That?s what Ken?s Rage is about,you have to move into levels and destroy hordes of enemies. If you play at hardest difficulty the game is challenging,in particular bosses and mini-bosses are hard to beat. You have to think and use strategy if you don?t want to be killed. Sometimes you?ll have to improve your characters if you want to beat certain bosses. That?s another cool feature of Ken?s Rage,your character become stronger fights after fights. In every chapter you?ll collect skill points. With skill points you?ll be able to ?buy? techniques and abilities trough Meridian Chart. Merdian Chart adds more realism to the game,for example Kenshiro can beats Raoh in the final showdown only if he has a full Merdian Chart (with all abilities and techniques).

The main game modes are 3: Story Mode,Dream Mode and Challenge Mode.

Story Mode: here you can follow the manga?s story from Kenshiro vs Zeed to the final battle between Kenshiro and Raoh

Dream Mode: that?s a really nice game mode in which you can play as one of the various characters of the game following particular storylines devised specifically for this game.

Challenge Mode: you have to face various bosses in a sort of survival mode.

CHARACTERS
I want to talk about the great variety of characters you?ll find in this game. First of all I have to say that every character is so accurate,so detailed from moves to techniques?you can feel that the game is done with passion. Characters are divided into 3 types: Hokuto,Nanto and Special. We have 8 playable characters : Kenshiro, Mamiya, Rei, Raoh, Toki, Jagi,Souther and Shin, who become 10 with the DLC for Heart and Outlaw. From the technical point of view, each character has his basic attacks and special techniques for each fighting styles, taken directly from the manga. You can choose from 4 special techniques for each character, and equip them trough a special menu. This shows the hard work behind this game. Watching Kenshiro doing his ATATATATA attack will charge you of positive energy!!

AUDIO AND SOUNDTRACK
The game offers Japanese and English voices with subtitles. Personally I love Japanese voices,they are so epic,on the other side English dub is not at the same level, there is a lack of real interpretation. Concerning in game audio,everything is perfect,from environment sounds to enemies explosion.
The soundtrack is not bad,but sometimes it became repetitive. Anyway the main theme is cool,one of the best I?ve ever heard for a game and fits very well with Hokuto no Ken.

CONCLUSIONS
This game is definitely a game made for fans you have to love Hokuto no Ken to understand the greatness of Fist of the North Star: Ken?s Rage. The only real lack of this game is the absence of an online co-op mode. In conclusion I have to say that this is the definitive game about Hokuto no Ken, a game that every self-respecting fan should play, and live. Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage is more than a game: IT?S AN EXPERIENCE that can excite and make you live in beautiful memories.

Ken?s Rage is a dream come true?it?s THE SAVIOR OF HOKUTO NO KEN FANS!
