16 November 2010, 4:29pm by SegaSaturnSNK. You're Already Improving!

What can I say, Koei finally updated their graphics department on their games. Can't say it's the best looking game but at least an improvement over their other games that they have been releasing the past years since the 360 came in town and later the PS3. The character designs look real good in the game besides the enemies. I don't blame them because if they did their best of work on the enemies, just imagine the slow down! Overall though, no slowdown, thank goodness! Past DW games even on the 360/PS3, there would be slowdown during gameplay battles and etc. Finally, not in this one. My only complain about the graphics are the environments. They just don't have any life. It just looks too repetitive and plain. I understand we're in a apocalyptic era but still, almost everywhere you go, it almost looks the same. Too plain, it all looks almost looks the same. If they ever decide to make a second one, they def. need to improve the stages in the game. Take some risks will ya Koei!

The gameplay? The gameplay is great, just your casual beat em up brawler. Don't expect anything great, it's repetitive and it does get old but if you're a true fan of Fist of the North Star, you will be glued to this. The story is amazing and Koei did an awesome job on making the story awesome between the comics and manga. They did a great job and kept things interesting. The characters just feel real and true to themselves. This is one job Koei did absolutely right. I love how they put so much personality in this game along with the signature moves. Signature moves aka special attacks and every character you use in the game has 8 of them.

There are 3 modes in the game. Legend (main story mode for main characters such as Ken, Rei, and etc.), Dream (scenarios. little extra stages to play with more characters such as Jagi, "SAY MY NAME BITCHES!", does have story to the characters too but won't spoll), and Challenge mode. Legend focuses more on your main character while Dream is like a DW/SW feel to it. Like say you pick Ken, you'll be teaming up with your brothers and you'll be fighting against the Nanto which I really enjoyed. Challenge mode is you take up some challenges, try to do your best, and reach up to the leaderboards for rankings. There is tutorial for anyone new to the game and also gallery where it does you the history, details, and information about everything on FOTNS.

Bottom line is, if you're a true fan of FOTNS and along a fan of Dynasty/Samurai Warriors, this is def. a game you should get. It looks like DLC will be supported which makes things fresh and for you to come back for more. There will be extra costumes, scenarios, and characters like Heart and one of the Outlaw characters coming out soon on Live and PSN. I personally beat the game with everyone and is almost at 100 percent with the trophies on this epic game. I reserved it at Gamestop and got the Heart and two scenarios for free which was awesome. Amazon had the Outlaw DLC for free with a preorder but I much prefer to have the Heart DLC. By the time you read this, YOU'RE ALREADY DEAD!
